A shop drawing is a detailed drawing created by a subcontractor or manufacturer showing how a specific component will be fabricated and installed. 

These drawings take the design and turn it into something buildable. If shop drawings aren’t reviewed properly, mistakes get built into the project. 

Submitted separately from the main plan set during the submittal process.
